Neftekhim promotes the principles of sustainable development, doing everything possible to reduce the negative impact of the daily activities of chemical production on the environment. The company operates in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and makes great efforts to improve all aspects of environmental activities.
In order to ensure compliance with the requirements of environmental legislation and reduce the burden on the environment, Neftekhim annually implements environmental protection measures. In 2023 costs to ensure environmental safety amounted to 25 million tenge.

• Emissions

The most important Neftekhim principle is compliance with emission standards specified in the environmental impact permit. Due to the implementation of environmental measures, emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere are reduced annually. Atmospheric air monitoring is carried out according to the industrial environmental control program which is part of the environmental impact permit.

• Waste

Neftekhim has developed a Waste Management Program for 2023-2026. The purpose of management and control of production and consumption waste handling is to reduce its negative impact on the environment. To utilize its own polypropylene and polyethylene wastethe Polymer Waste Recycling Unit is provided in the plant. Every year the volume of recycled waste increases, thus reducing the volume of waste transfer to third-party organizations.

• Product Transportation

Transportation of waste is carried out using vehicles that ensure the prevention of the harmful effects of transported waste on the environment, public health, and property.
